Sins of growing old

Lose of innocence comes with the passing of ages
In our hour of existence we indulge in the perks of the world
Blinded by the glitters of the modern era,
We run short of our sight
Dusty sins turning solid mud in our eyes
The craving and lusting don’t want to end
The throat remains as dry as a desert
Despite the continuous consumption
Streams and rivers are running dry
Yet the thirst remains unquenched

The world remains needy despite all the gifts
Billionaires are seeking for more their quest never satisfied
And when they finally drop dead it becomes clear
That their race still knows no end
How foolish we have grown to become
So selfish and sinful
Sicknesses of wanting are cutting us down
Lust for lavished life
Hunger for power, so dangerous
Politicians of today pull each other apart
Together they don’t build anymore
Our society is drowning in fears
As those with money and power
Strip naked the trusting nation
All because of the desire to satisfy the foolish quest
