HOPE

When I have you, hope,
Life feels so great
Dreams within reach
Smiles all over my face
With you in my side
I am in a good mood
You feed my desires
Making me alive

I am alive with possibilities
You disadvantage my disabilities
Because you inspire my abilities
You inspire me
To get up and face every new day
As if the best has been promised
Only you inspire me so much
That I believe I can reach the sky

Hope, that feeling that
it’s all going to be all right
You inspire me…
With you by my side
I believe I can conquer
The turmoil of live
And overcome monsters

I believe……………………..!

ELECTORMETRE

Politricking is on once again
different posters and pictures
same O promises
same O dirty tricks,
fake concerns and convenient love

the lust for power and money
with hearts in serious need of life
dead hearts with zero love for humanity
the eye is on the rand
same O people,
same O lies
different words like swords,
their weapon to weaken our minds
different sentences and paragraphs
same O meaning,
same O sentiment

now they know that our cities can be cleaner
they remember a village between mountains
and Malema is building toilets
how long will the wall stand
how many more can you put up
and don’t forget the pot holes, Mr Fixit.
What are you fixing, votes or lives

Same O … Same O… Shame!!

The devil won’t catch me

I ain’t going to let him rule my life
I am not about to be ruined by him
I am going to fetch my bags and run
-if needs be I will run him over
No don’t tell me he is strong
My pride is stronger
I am not going to be strangled
I stand firm on my ground and wrestle
Mine is a holy
Believe me this is not a lie
Knocks and kick won’t break me
I confirm, my life is my battle
It is my war, I am not going to be won
This life has a purpose.

Sow for you shall reap

- like a farmer you spread seed around the world
when you smile at a fellow or may be even frown
you spread some seed, from which one day
you shall receive your rewards
rom which one day you may depend on

sow for you shall reap
go on sow the seed
deep in the belly of the earth
let it bring back what you gave
like trees and crops do
sow so you reap

Let Me forget

Maybe even forgive
Those who stole from me
Beaten me up for nothing
Maybe even let me smile with them
Or even love them

This heart of mine
Is not a garbage bin
For cruel sad grudges
No it’s not

It is a precious jewel
Worthy of being treasured
This heart of mine

It’s like an eight cylinder engine
There is no time for dirty
Mind blowing slowing politics of the past
Oh no, it’s a rhythmic treasure of my soul.

Let me forget
Even forgive
And maybe even give
For in giving we shall receive
If nothing maybe a peace of mind

Gently be kind.

To the earth that we leave in,
The horizon above and the sea
Truly love Mother Nature
for she gave birth to you.
Raising you from your toddler days
Holding you tight with love
Saving you for tomorrow
So you can safe her for eternity
Be kind and gentle,
Walk in her feet kindly
Gently being kind to all species
But ost of all to humankind

Keep the faith…

Traveling this long and winding road
and your feet burns and it seems destiny is far away
When splashes of hopes disappears like a tantalizing mirage
Be firm in your struggle and step like a soldier
Believing you will make it…
for you will make it if you believe

Bury your fear in a tomb that will never open
and seal it with trust
Trust that you shall be delivered
Trust that your strides are not in vain
that the blood flowing in your veins is champion blood
and victory is certainly yours

The mountains on your way
no matter how big and ugly they may seem
shall be conquered and destiny shall prevail
Deserts and storms may not deter you soul
Son of soil, toil the land knowing you will make it.

It doesn’t matter how many times you have cried before
Time is ticking and yours is coming,
It doesn’t matter how many times you lost
You are still a champion and all you need is to believe
Believe and take babies steps towards your dream
soon you will be flying….!!

Looking Back To 2010

The national dream

a year marked with hopes and dreams
expectations and wishes
…individuals and nations waited
with baited breath
some sighing words of evil
waiting for a dream to ravel
time grew older life unraveled
a tale almost like a fairy tale
as the nation held arms
joined in the fiasco of a lifetime
and everybody who is worthy of life
became part of the greatest carnival
as Msanzi welcomed the world
feeding the universe with the rhythm of life
letting them drink from bosoms of hope.
the same hope that kept us alive…

Politricking minority

as the dream fade away
leaving memories and stories
to be told for generations to come
politicians continue to politrick
selling us nothing for the price of something
nothing has changed…
money is exchanged in family hands
mining rights and tenders
are still the centre of family discussions
in the prime political homes
from the nobodies to mining magnets
in a lightning time
the pres man continue to dance “Mchini wam”
while babies pop like balloons
then the madam and the bodyguard
just like Hollywood, this isn’t holly.
the ways of cheating continue to evolve

And as usual death steal it’s own

Shutting down the musical chord of
Busi Mhlongo whose enchanting voice
Has seen jazz at the rivers and lakes
Parks and theatres of our South…
Resting the feet of Rex Rabanye
While the musical voices
Fill up the Bloemfontein sky
And in the cold july
Coyete’s Stimela reached it’s station.

Molefi a fulara,
leaving his patients
waiting for nurses on strike.

in the eve of the world major event
death still tried to steal the limelight
taking from the world’s greatest man
Stealing a grand daughter

Minis from hell shut down
The breath of the school kids
In broad day light

The mighty Terry bowed down
And PAC continues to run out of soldiers
as Khoisan X takes his “X” somewhere else

Mo leseng morwa Shuping,
let him, his battle has been a holy one
as it can only be in love and war…

Many more saw the rise
But didn’t see the sun setting….

Many more great and lesser people
Took their final breath
Breaking our hearts as they remind us
That time is only a borrowed mechanism
And that even though we build empires
We will pass and only in history shall we stay
Reminding us that when it is all done
It is better to be remembered in good faith.

Striking in vain

Masses of nurses and teachers
Took to the street,
Abandoning their sworn duties
Teachers cheating children
Access to education
Because Richards won’t sign
Nurses toyi toyi,
As they toy with lives
Turning our hospitals to sanctuaries of death
Lied to by the divided unions
Whose motives is of deceptive nature

Many took to the street
Regrettably others took their last breath
As they wait for service
Services denied because of politics
The poor continue to feel
The wrath hand of the government
Despite the color of the head

Priorities are mixed up
We keep striking in vain
Calling swore words
As if we lost our minds
All in vain…
Or may be we did loose our minds!

Viva Vavi or vamoose

Yes, in the wake of tender fever
Who else can we call up
To stand tall and say something
Viva Vavi, but how long will you keep
us guessing, waiting, anticipating
like clouds of rains, your words promises
and we wait…calling your name
as unions confuses us
we hope you have a righteous sword
with which we can shut down
the mighty growing lies in this nation.
Stand tall and fight all righteous man
The time to level the battle ground is now.

The lost Stimela return to track

In the musical world
Great reunions give birth
To fresh new themes
A sign of hope
As great voices come together
Reminding us of time when
They whispered in the deep
This time the beloved train
Is sailing along the right track
Coasting graciously along
The boarders of Mzansi’s hearts

Phinda mzala,
Do it once more for the love of art
For the love of well thought rhythms
That shakes people’s bodies
While soothing their minds
While giving people some hope…

Survive once more
South welcomes the revival of
Songs of the south
The songs that never died
The sound that stood resilient
Even whilst burned
The sound that today we rejoice
And call our own

For your return we thank you
-Stimela- just like a steel train.

tic toc, another year burns out

seem just like yesterday
when we said the same thing
nothing really has changed
the walls are still the same
only a few faces grew pale
the sun still sets in the west
still rise in the east
rain still fall from the sky

it feels just like yesterday
when we danced
celebrating the end of a year
the heavy braais,
fire works
midnight prayers
praying for better days
in the year to come
and thanking for the positive
that the year has brought
some swearing
hopefully wishing that
this would become a better year

it all feels like yesterday
when we said good bye and hello
and we repeat again, and again
as if it really matters
with all our hearts we believe
this is a brand new day
with a set of new rules
and so we celebrate and pray
hoping this year will be the best
and so we keep on counting down

tic-toc, tic-toc another year burns out….!!
